Bio

Aaron and Bryce Dessner are both full-time members of the band The National. This year, along with Justin Vernon and Tom and Nadine Michelberger, they’re launching PEOPLE, an independent digital platform where the music from recordings, sessions, and live events—as well as visual art, podcasts, and essays—can find a home. The site provides an artist-lead, independent environment by giving the contributors the ability to provide the context for all the work that appears there. Though the platform will launch officially in August, a beta version is available now → beta.p-e-o-p-l-e.com.

Aaron Dessner and Justin Vernon’s new band, Big Red Machine, is releasing their debut via PEOPLE. This August will also mark the 2nd installment of the PEOPLE festival, at which about 160 artists will spend a week working and playing together.
