Adali Schell
Bio
Adali Schell is a photographer from Los Angeles. Getting his start as a teenager, Schell would ride the Metro from the outskirts of LA to Union Station, hopping off to traverse the streets for hours, shooting incessantly. Over the past five years, Schell’s practice has evolved to highlight his close relationships with the people of the city and its vast landscape, while simultaneously cultivating an honest window into his family’s life in rural America, specifically in New Paris, Ohio. He received his BFA from the UCLA’s School of Arts and Architecture in 2024, and has exhibited internationally at les Rencontres d’Arles and the Museum of Warsaw. Schell has been notably published in numerous acclaimed publications, including The New Yorker, The Guardian, and The New York Times. His most recent show, Car Pictures, was held at Leica Gallery Los Angeles, which will travel to Boston in 2026.
