Angie Fan
Bio
Angie Fan is an artist and technologist who works in virtual reality, video, and the internet. Their research examines the continuum of reciprocal care and violence embedded in our interaction with technology. Their VR installation Applied Cuteness Research invites players to cradle, pet, and punch floating pastel entities called Cuties, with cuteness operating as a site where terms of care are understood and negotiated. They design technology infrastructure for humans at the non-profit Kinfolk Tech and co-founded Community Bread, a grassroots platform for queer and marginalized artists during the COVID-19 pandemic.
