Bio

Anjimile Chithambo is a Boston-based trans indie singer and songwriter. In September of 2020, Anjimile released his debut album Giver Taker on Father/Daughter Records. A journey of self-reflection, bolstered by Anjimile’s delicate, earthy vocals, the album draws on musical influences ranging from African pop and Sufjan Stevens to a childhood spent in the church—his songwriting exploring themes of faith, reinvention, addiction, and joyful rebirth. In May, Anjimile gave Giver Taker new life with Reunion, which includes expanded orchestral versions of several songs on Giver Taker, featuring musicians like Jay Som, Lomelda, SASAMI, and Justine Bowe (Photocomfort).
