Bio

For a decade, Bryan Funck has been the vocalist for Thou, a wildly prolific Louisiana metal band guided by a punk ethos of self-reliance and enthusiastic collaboration. A former anarchist bookstore employee and a current record shop owner and avid reader, Funck brings those interests to bear in Thou, which has made it a habit to eschew typical metal tropes. On this year’s massive Magus, Funck sings, howls, groans, growls, and whispers bilious but thoughtful social commentary about the mess we’ve helped to make over doomsday guitars and caustic noise.
