Carrie Brownstein
Bio
Carrie Brownstein is an American musician, writer, actor, and director. Alongside Corin Tucker, she co-founded essential indie rock band Sleater-Kinney in 1994. The group has since released 11 acclaimed records, including this year’s Little Rope. She has also written for publications like The Believer and NPR Music, as well as published the memoir Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl. Brownstein and comedian Fred Armisen co-created and starred in the sketch comedy show Portlandia, and she has also acted and directed in several projects for television and film.
