Cecile Schott

Bio

Cecile Schott records and performs music under the name Colleen. Her approach has evolved over the course of six albums, from the sample-based instrumentals of 2003’s Everyone Alive Wants Answers, to her latest release, A Flame My Love, a Frequency, which uses synthesizers and analog effects as a lush bed for her vocals. Along the way, she’s incorporated Baroque viola da gambas, production techniques inspired by Jamaican dub music, and other sounds gleaned from her omnivorous musical interests. Originally from France, Schott now lives in San Sebastián on Spain’s northern coast.
