ChimPom
Bio
Chim↑Pom is an artist collective formed in 2005 in Tokyo whose practice responds to contemporary social issues with a strong social message. Multi-disciplinary in practice, the collective primarily focuses on video, installations, and performances. In addition to developing international projects, they recently began curating exhibitions of other artists’ work. Most notably they organized an international exhibition/project “Don’t Follow the Wind,” near Fukushima inside the area restricted after the 2011 nuclear disaster. Their intervention is scheduled to continue until the ban is lifted and public access is again allowed. Here, they talk about what it’s like working as a collective. The conversation took place in front of a live audience at Vacant Gallery in Tokyo, Japan, on November 30, 2017.
