Daisy Press
Bio
Daisy Press is a singer and voice teacher who specializes in helping people sound like themselves. As a singer, she has worked with composers including Steve Reich, Bernhard Lang, and George Crumb, and performed extensively with the electro-funk group Chromeo. She is a specialist in the music of 12th-century mystic Hildegard of Bingen, and incorporates elements of North Indian (Hindustani) ragas into her unusual interpretations of Hildegard’s Medieval chants. In 2019 her first all-Hildegard album will be released on Story Sound Records. She is principal vocalist at the Brooklyn art space House of Yes, where she serves as High Priestess of Voice Cult, a community that meets monthly to explore the intersection of singing and healing, and which may or may not be a legitimate cult.
