Dean Haspiel

Bio

Dean Haspiel is an Emmy-winning cartoonist best known for creating Brooklyn-based characters The Red Hook and Billy Dogma, and illustrating for HBO’s Bored to Death. His published work includes writing and drawing for Marvel, DC, Archie Comics, and Heavy Metal magazine, and he has collaborated with Harvey Pekar, Jonathan Ames, Jonathan Lethem, Stoya, and Stan Lee, among others. In addition, Haspiel is an accomplished playwright and Yaddo fellow.
