Elise Peterson

Bio

Elise R. Peterson is a writer, visual artist and educator living and working in New York. She has written for ADULT, Paper Magazine, Elle, Lenny Letter, and many other publications. She is the creator of the collage series #BlackFolk and has published her artwork in the book How Mamas Love Their Babies. She previously served as the founding music editor at Saint Heron. Currently, Elise can be seen as the host of MANE, a video series produced by Now This News about the intersection of culture and hair. Here she talks about hashtag art, being a cool mom, and navigating the ever-changing human truth.
