First Hate is Anton Falck and Joakim Wei Bernild, a Copenhagen-based duo who began making music in 2013. Their music blends euphoric Scandinavian pop with stripped-back, moody synth work, capturing the highs and lows of modern life. Their latest release, Cotton Candy (Escho/Cascine), continues this exploration with tracks like “Commercial,” which critiques consumerism’s enduring allure. Live, the duo’s dynamic evokes yin and yang: Joakim’s calm precision on synths contrasts with Anton’s explosive energy on the mic.
