Bio
Gabrielle Giattino is the founder and director of Bureau, a contemporary art gallery she established in New York in 2010. A native New Yorker, Giattino holds an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and previously worked in curatorial roles at the Swiss Institute in New York. In 2007, she co-founded Dispatch, an experimental exhibition space on the Lower East Side, before opening Bureau which grew out of Dispatch’s programming. Over more than fifteen years, she has developed a program dedicated to artists whose practices are driven by intellectual rigor, experimentation, and deeply personal forms of inquiry. Under her direction, Bureau has become known for presenting ambitious exhibitions across painting, sculpture, photography, video, and interdisciplinary forms, with an emphasis on long-term relationships with artists and sustained engagement with their work.
