Huey Lewis
Bio
Huey Lewis is a Grammy-winning American singer, songwriter, and actor. He sings lead and plays harmonica for his band, Huey Lewis and the News, in addition to writing or co-writing many of the band’s songs. The band is most widely known for their third and best-selling album, Sports, and their contribution to the soundtrack of the 1985 feature film Back to the Future. The band have sold over 30 million albums, topped numerous charts, earned Grammy wins, Academy Award nominations, and a spot on Billboard’s recent list of the Top 125 Artists of All Time. In 2019 the band will release their 10th studio album, Weather, which was recorded just before Lewis was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease, a condition that could potentially keep him from ever singing again. Regarding his current diagnosis, Lewis remains upbeat, saying, “You’ve got to look on the bright side and stay creative. Even if I never sing again, things could always be worse. After all, I’m deaf, not dead.”
