Ichiko Aoba
Bio
Ichiko Aoba is the founder of independent label hermine. Since her 2010 debut, she has released over seven albums, and has travelled across the globe with nothing more than her voice and nylon-string guitar. Since releasing Windswept Adan (2020), described as a “soundtrack for a fictional film,” she has also begun to incorporate strings in her live shows.
Aoba’s work as a radio presenter, narrator, film composer, and performer across a wide variety of fields has consistently won her acclaim, including the prestigious best soundtrack award at the 77th Mainichi Film Awards for her work on Amiko (2022). Recipient of the ANCHOR Award at the 2023 Reeperbahn Festival.
