Jamie Nami Kim

Bio

Jamie Nami Kim (b.1977) is a Korean American artist whose body of work combines dream analysis and ancestral work to create a symbolic language through a spontaneous and intuitive process. Her paintings are made of cut forms, often repeating the shape of Korean dancers, which reflects her curiosities in the Korean woman’s experience as well as ideas of feminine identity and power. Jamie has lived in five countries and speaks over three languages. She draws from her experiences to weave together complex narratives that cross cultural, temporal and spiritual boundaries.
