Bio
janera solomon is a writer, curator, and cultural strategist based in Pittsburgh, where she’s working on her debut collection of poetry and essays. Born in Georgetown, Guyana, she draws inspiration from the music and dance, writers and artists of the African and Caribbean diaspora. janera served as executive director of Kelly Strayhorn Theater, a vital cultural anchor in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood. janera holds a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and an MA in Writing (nonfiction) from Johns Hopkins University. She is the founder and CEO of ARTPOWER Inc, a public benefit organization created to transform personal finance for artists. She is host of new The ARTPOWER Podcast.
