Bio

An avid journaler, Jensen McRae has been documenting her existence since she was 18. Her first album Are You Happy Now? was a mission statement for the artist who grew up an automatic outsider as a Black Jewish girl from Los Angeles hellbent on making folk music. She reached a new level of viral fame with the song “Massachusetts,” eventually recorded with producer Brad Cook. Now signed to Dead Oceans, McRae’s forthcoming record I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! takes place against the backdrop of romantic turbulence and her rapidly growing audience.
