Jesse Edelstein

Bio

Jessie Edelstein is an interdisciplinary artist from Long Island, New York currently based in Los Angeles. Her work focuses on the themes of technology, autonomy, and identity with face paint and performance being her primary mediums. She is interested in the intersection of augmentation and technology and how these fields can combine to help push visual aesthetics forward. Since 2021, she’s been working on Jessie.Mp3, her conceptual sound/performance project. Inspired by the queer art form of drag, she utilizes ip syncs to explore ideas such as cloning, robotic autonomy, and identity. Each performance is set to an original sound design where she incorporates computerized effects such as glitching, rebooting, and impromptu shut downs with Internet based references and music. Additionally, she’s collaborated with music producers to create original songs for the project.
