Bio
JIJI is known for virtuosic performances that feature a diverse selection of music, ranging from traditional and contemporary classical to free improvisation, played on both acoustic and electric guitar. The Washington Post selected her as “one of the 21 composers/performers who sound like tomorrow.” Her recent projects include Harp of Nerves, a collaborative album with composer Hilary Purrington, Wild Up’s Julius Eastman Vol. 2, and UNBOUND, an album that explores the meaning of virtuosity. She is currently an assistant guitar professor at Arizona State University. She will start her appointment as Associate guitar professor at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in the Fall of 2023.
