Bio

A definitive figure within French music, Joakim has spent his career exploring multiple facets of sound and musical production. The founder of Tigersushi Records and Crowdspacer, his body of work lies at the intersection of music, art and fashion. Joakim’s music installations, soundtracks, and performances have been shown at cultural institutions like MOMA, Palais de Tokyo, and the Hammer Museum. A self-taught graphic designer, he designed all of his record covers and most of the cover art for Tigersushi and Crowdspacer and his visual artwork has been exhibited at Gwangju Biennale and at the Centro Pecci. His most recent album, Second Nature, was released in September 2021 by Tigersushi. The collection, which collages together a variety of field recordings amongst electronic sounds and analog instruments, in the artist’s words, about giving a voice back to nature. It will also be presented as a sound and video installation.
