John Flansburgh and John Linnell have blazed an original path as They Might Be Giants for more than 40 years, kicking down the doors of alternative rock with songs like “Don’t Let’s Start”, “Ana Ng,” and “Birdhouse in Your Soul”, as well as their ambitious project BOOK. Like their Dial-A-Song service, breakthrough MTV videos, and vast catalog of television work, BOOK was borne out of the duo’s relentless quest to take their music to new platforms and new places. In the 2000s and 2010s, the Johns expanded into writing for soundtracks and children’s music, including a Grammy for their theme song for Malcolm in the Middle and another for Best Musical Album for Children.
