Jorge Carrion
Bio
Jorge Carrión was born in Tarragona in 1976, but he has lived in Mataró and Barcelona most of his life. He has a Ph.D. in Humanities from the Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona, and manages the Master’s Degree in Creative Writing at the same institution. He has lived in Buenos Aires, Rosario and Chicago. His cultural criticism work and pieces have been published in several journals and magazines such as The New York Times en Español, La Vanguardia, and Mujer hoy. He is the author of a tetralogy of fiction (that includes Los muertos, Los huérfanos, Los turistas and Los difuntos) and is the author of various non-fiction books, such as Australia, un viaje, Teleshakespeare, Bookshops, and Against Amazon. He was the curator of the exhibition Las variaciones Sebald for the Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona (CCCB) and of the exhibition Todas las bibliotecas del mañana for the Koldo Mitxelena cultural center in San Sebastián. His work has been translated into fifteen languages.
