Kane Ocean is a Canadian photographer based in NYC. His work is instinctive, in and of the moment, balancing the curious energy of a kid experimenting with their first camera with a compositional eye honed in his fashion work. Kane’s portraits reveal a tender approach to this intimate act of image-making. His landscapes dwell on the tension between the natural and the human-made, equally destructive and generative, beautiful, ugly, and banal—a New York City trash can on fire.
