Masakatsu Takagi

Bio

Masakatsu Takagi is a composer, pianist, and visual artist who lives in the mountains of Hyōgo in Japan. In the early 2000s, he created video art with his own music that led to visual collaborations with artists including David Sylvian. Over the past decade, he has composed scores for several animated films by director Mamoru Hosoda. In 2017, he began creating daily piano recordings in his mountainside studio, the first collection of which he called Marginalia.
