Nuno Costa Santos is an award-winning Azorean fiction writer who has also written for film, theater, radio, and television. He was born and raised in the Azores and has written extensively about the life and culture of the islands. Here he discusses his experiences growing up in São Miguel, the benefits and challenges of working in a variety of genres, and how the isolated cultural traditions of the Azores have shaped his writing.
