Phyllis Bramson
Bio
Phyllis Bramson is an artist and educator based in Chicago. She is a Professor Emeritus from The University of Illinois at Chicago, and presently advises graduate students at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is a Senior Fullbright Scholar and the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Rockefeller Foundation Grant, and was selected as one of The Women’s Caucus for Art’s Lifetime Achievement Awardees. She has had over 40 one-person exhibitions, including the New Museum of Contemporary Art (NY), a mid-career survey at the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago, and a 30-year retrospective at the Rockford Art Museum, which traveled to the Chicago Cultural Center. Bramson is currently represented by Zolla/Lieberman Gallery in Chicago.
