Rachel Fleit
Bio
Rachel Fleit is a director and writer known for her intimate and authentic storytelling in a cinéma vérité style. Her work focuses on exploring emotional complexities, as seen in her documentary Bama Rush, on Max, which examines sorority recruitment at the University of Alabama and became the platform’s top documentary launch. Fleit also directed Introducing, Selma Blair, a portrait of actress Selma Blair’s life after a multiple sclerosis diagnosis, earning recognition at SXSW and a Critics Choice Award nomination. Her earlier films include Ava & Bianca, about two transgender cinematographers, and Gefilte, a documentary about a Jewish family’s holiday tradition, both of which garnered awards and wide recognition. A passionate advocate for people with Alopecia, Fleit’s work and advocacy have been featured in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Vogue, The Wall Street Journal, W magazine and Refinery 29. Before her directing career, she was the chief creative officer for the luxury womenswear brand Honor.
