Rose Melberg
Bio
Rose Melberg is indie pop royalty. Since 1992, the now Vancouver, BC-based songwriter has been involved in some of the most iconic albums of the genre. From the hooky power-pop of Tiger Trap to the tender punk of The Softies and the legendary Northern California supergroup, Go Sailor, Rose Melberg’s stamp can be found across nearly 50 groundbreaking recordings. In 2023, Melberg stepped in to play guitar for Bratmobile’s long-awaited reunion shows and she reconnected with her Softies bandmate Jen Sbragia. In 2024, The Softies released their first new album in nearly 25 years, The Bed I Made, to wide critical acclaim (Father/Daughter Records). Rose Melberg has released music with other musical projects such as Gaze and Knife Pleats as well as a handful of beautiful solo albums. When she isn’t playing music, you can find her at the all-cat pet supply store she co-owns called Happy Cat Feline Essentials.
