Sahra Motalebi
Bio
Sahra Motalebi is an artist, composer, vocalist and writer born in Birmingham, Alabama. Often formatted as performance-exhibition, her work includes opera, scenographic installation, vocal composition, recordings, painting, sculpture, video, and text. Motalebi studied classical vocal performance, painting, and the history of art and architecture at Sarah Lawrence College. She attended the Master of Architecture Program at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture focusing on the relationship between architecture, contemporary art, and performance. Here she discusses the ways in which her projects become creative storehouses for a multitude of medias, techniques, and ideas.
