Stephanie Danler
Bio
Hailed as “the ‘Kitchen Confidential’ of our time” by the New York Times, Stephanie Danler’s debut novel, Sweetbitter, became an immediate bestseller earlier this year. Not only does the novel provide an accurate behind-the-curtain view of the inner workings of a Manhattan restaurant (not so loosely based on Danler’s own experiences working at NYC’s Union Square Cafe), it also—perhaps more compellingly—captures the wonder and terror of being a young person in a new city with little to no idea of what they are doing.
Danler now lives in Los Angeles and is currently in the process of recovering from Sweetbitter mania and working on her second novel.
