Stuart Murdoch

Bio

Stuart Murdoch is a Scottish musician, writer and filmmaker, and the lead singer and songwriter for the indie pop band Belle & Sebastian. Since forming in 1996 the band has released nine studio albums and is currently in the middle of releasing a trio of EP’s under the title of How to Solve Our Human Problems. Here Murdoch discusses the comfort and creative support that comes with working in a band, the varying definitions of what it means to produce something, and the importance of celebrating quiet joys.
