Sylvie Weber

Bio

Sylvie Weber is a German-Dominican filmmaker whose work focuses on empowering women and shedding light on underrepresented stories, especially those relating to injustices and inequalities. She is a self-taught director who has been telling stories even before she understood her own. Her 2018 award-winning debut short film The Prophetess premiered at the Africa International Film Festival in Lagos. She is also a music video director who has worked with The xx and Melanie C, among others.
