Thurston Moore

Bio

Thurston Moore is a musician and author best known for his work in Sonic Youth. Founded in New York City in 1981, Sonic Youth were an important band in the experimental “no wave” art and music scene. They released 16 full-length albums plus numerous EPs, live recordings, and singles before disbanding in 2011. Moore also has an extensive body of solo work and collaborations with other musicians. He is the founder of the record label Ecstatic Peace! and is part of the faculty of the summer writing program at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. His memoir, Sonic Life, was published in October of 2023.
