Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws, better known professionally as Tricky, is a record producer, musician and actor. Early in his career, the Bristol-born artist worked closely with legendary trip-hop outfit Massive Attack. His solo career began with debut album Maxinquaye in 1995, a record lauded for its intricately layered sound, which has only grown more nuanced and adventurous in the decades since. His production style has continuously pushed at the creative envelope, whether as the backing track for his own plainspoken vocals or those of his many collaborators. Now based in Berlin, Tricky released his 14th studio album, Fall To Pieces, in September 2020, via his own label, False Idols. The record primarily features the vocals of Marta Złakowska, a Polish singer Tricky discovered while on tour.
