Xochitl Gonzalez is a New York born-and-bred cultural critic, producer, screenwriter, and New York Times bestselling author of Olga Dies Dreaming, winner of the Brooklyn Public Library Book Prize in Fiction and the New York City Book Awards. Olga, the story of a Puerto Rican daughter of a revolutionary who becomes a high end wedding planner while wrestling with her demons and the American dream, is currently in the works to become a miniseries starring Aubrey Plaza. Gonzalez also pens the newsletter Brooklyn, Everywhere for The Atlantic, and was recognized as a 2023 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Commentary. Xochitl’s second novel, Anita de Monte Laughs Last will be released this March, 2024, from Macmillan.
