Bio

Yea-Ming Chen is a Bay Area–based singer-songwriter and musician currently performing and recording with the band Ryli since 2024, as well as with her solo project, Yea-Ming and The Rumours, for about a decade. Yea-Ming is obsessed with the anti-heroine story, a recurring theme in her songs, with her varied sound looming in the space between ’60s folk-pop, ’90s indie pop à la Camera Obscura, country-hued songwriting à la David Berman, and a more polished 2000s indie sound à la Alvvays. Ryli’s debut album, Come and Get Me, came out kicking last year on Dandy Boy Records, and Yea-Ming and The Rumours’ fourth studio album, Residue, is scheduled for release in June 2026.
