Annie Bielski
Bio
Annie Bielski (b. 1990, Toledo, OH) is an artist, writer, and performer. Bielski’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including solo exhibitions at Rachel Uffner Gallery in New York, SEPTEMBER Gallery in Hudson, The University at Buffalo Anderson Gallery in Buffalo, and Paris London Hong Kong in Chicago. Group exhibitions and screenings include Lodos Gallery in Mexico City, The Portland Institute of Contemporary Art in Portland, Burning in Water in New York, LYRA Festival in Norway and Latvia, Art Rio in Rio de Janeiro, and other places. She writes about art and artists for various publications, including The Creative Independent, and creates artists’ books of poems and images often coinciding with exhibitions. She has performed at The Museum of Modern Art, Basilica Hudson, Rachel Uffner Gallery, CANADA, and elsewhere. Her collaboration with Jenny Hval over the years has resulted in visuals, writing, and performances across the US and Europe. Her work and performances have been covered by Whitehot Magazine, Art News, Hyperallergic, MTV, and The New York Times. She received a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA from SUNY Buffalo. Bielski lives and works in New Mexico, and is represented by SEPTEMBER Gallery.
