Daniel Blumberg
Bio
Daniel Blumberg is a musician and visual artist based in London. He was a founding member of the indie rock bands Cajun Dance Party and Yuck, and has recorded under the names Oupa, Hebronix, and since 2018, released music under his own name with Mute. Since 2013 much of his collaborative work has sprung out of the scene around London’s experimental music venue Café Oto. As a visual artist, Blumberg’s graphite and silverpoint drawings and watercolor works have shown in galleries and museums throughout Europe. Blumberg’s first feature film score, for Mona Fastvold’s The World to Come won the Ivor Novello Award in 2022 for Best Original Film Score. He recently released a solo album, GUT, and is working on the score to writer-director Brady Corbet’s upcoming The Brutalist.
