Max Cavalera
Bio
Max Cavalera is a Brazilian musician best known for his work in the metal bands Sepultura and Soulfly, both of which have a long history of incorporating tribal music and native instruments into their music. (Sepultura famously collaborated with the Xavante tribe of Brazil on their 1996 album, Roots.) He is also a member of the bands Cavalera Conspiracy, Go Ahead and Die and the supergroup Killer Be Killed. He was one half of the short-lived but influential band Nailbomb. His autobiography, My Bloody Roots: From Sepultura to Soulfly and Beyond, was first published in 2013 and reprinted in an expanded edition in 2022.
