Michael Stipe is an American musician and visual artist. He is best known as the lead singer of R.E.M., a band that released 15 albums and sold over 85 million records around the world. Since the dissolution of the band in 2011, Stipe has occupied himself with a wide variety of music, film, and art-related projects.
