Sophie Lewis
Bio
Sophie Lewis is an ex-academic writer based in Philadelphia, working on a book for Penguin: The Liberation of Children (forthcoming 2027). Her most recent book is an essay collection: Femmephilia: Love Letters to Trans Mermaids, Queer Mothers, and Marilyn Monroe. Sophie is also the author of Full Surrogacy Now (Verso, 2019), Abolish the Family (Verso, 2022), and Enemy Feminisms: TERFs, Policewomen, and Girlbosses Against Liberation (Haymarket, 2025), all of which have been translated into multiple languages. She teaches short courses online for the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research, and publishes essays everywhere from The Drift to n+1.
